Overview
Zambia’s Grand Migration is a full overland circuit through the country’s most remote and rewarding wilderness, connecting two of Africa’s great wildlife migrations in a single continuous journey.
Starting in Livingstone with a sunset boat cruise, rhino tracking, and a full Victoria Falls and Chobe experience, the route heads west through Sioma to the little-visited Ngonye Falls, before continuing on to Liuwa Plain National Park ā home to Africa’s second-largest wildebeest migration, some of the continent’s highest hyena densities, and one of Zambia’s most stable, recovering cheetah populations.
From Liuwa, the route returns through Mongu and heads east into Northern Kafue’s Busanga Plains ā widely regarded as Zambia’s most reliable destination for cheetah sightings, and one of the country’s richest predator landscapes overall ā before continuing on to Kasanka National Park for the straw-coloured fruit bat migration, one of the largest mammal migrations on Earth. The circuit ends in Lusaka.
Between Liuwa and Busanga, this is the only Zambian itinerary that gives guests two genuine chances at spotting cheetah in two of the country’s best areas for them ā a combination no single-park safari can match.
