Overview
Every year, as the dry season takes hold, thousands of Southern Carmine Bee-eaters arrive along the banks of the Luangwa River to nest ā turning the riverbank cliffs into a moving wall of turquoise and crimson. This fly-in safari is built around that exact window, based at Track and Trail River Camp, an intimate, owner-run lodge just five minutes from South Luangwa’s main gate, directly on the river where the colonies nest.
With return flights between Lusaka and Mfuwe included, this is a fully inclusive escape into one of Africa’s most photogenic bird spectacles ā paired with South Luangwa’s renowned game viewing, walking safaris, and predator activity.
