This is a purely on-foot experience — there's no vehicle component at all, unlike our Rhino Game Drive Safari, which combines a game drive with a walking tracking portion.

How long does it take?

The full experience, from pickup to drop-off, takes about 3 hours. Actual walking time averages around 1 hour, but can be extended or shortened based on your pace and interest.

Is this suitable for everyone?

This trip is rated Hard and involves genuine walking, so guests must be fit and able to walk comfortably. The minimum age is 11 years old.

Is this walk safe, given it's on foot in a park with rhino?

Yes — every walk is accompanied by both your guide and an armed park scout throughout, following standard safety protocols for walking safaris in areas with dangerous game.

Will we definitely see white rhino?

As with all wildlife experiences, sightings can't be guaranteed, but rhino tracking is the focal point of the walk, guided by an experienced tracker throughout.

The walk is built around tracking white rhino on foot — reading fresh tracks, dung, and other signs most visitors would walk straight past — while also taking time for the smaller details a game drive simply moves past too quickly to catch: insect life, plant knowledge, tracks of other animals, and birdlife along the way.

The pace is entirely built around you. While the average walk runs around an hour, it can be extended or shortened depending on how much ground you want to cover and how much time you’d like to spend at any particular sighting or point of interest.
